Muzaffarnagar: A 22-year-old married lady from Delhi was allegedly strangled to dying by her husband on Sunday over demand for extra dowry, police stated.

The incident occurred in Purbaliyan village beneath Mansurpur police station limits of the district, they stated, including that the girl’s husband has been arrested.
The sufferer has been recognized as Zoya, who had married Sabir six months in the past. She was being compelled to get extra dowry by her in-laws, police stated.

In line with SHO Manoj Chahal, a case was registered towards three of the in-laws’ members together with the girl’s husband Sabir, her father-in-law Mohammad Ali and brother-in-law Fayyaz. Sabir has been arrested.

In line with the criticism lodged by the deceased lady’s father Mukeem, a resident of Delhi, it acknowledged that his daughter obtained married to Sabir six months in the past and was being harassed for extra dowry.

It’s learnt that Sabir had tried suicide over a tiff along with his spouse final week. On Sunday, Sabir had a heated argument and later allegedly strangled his spouse to dying.

That is the second such incident of a girl dying over a dowry dispute within the district.

On Saturday, a pregnant lady was strangled to dying by her husband with the assistance of his household and later obtained dumped within the Ganga canal. The lady’s physique has nonetheless not been discovered, police stated.
