8-10 platoons of police force to be deployed in Bhubaneswar from Tuesday

Bhubaneswar :The Bali Yatra will begin in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. For this, all the preparations have been completed in the final phase. Three gates have been set up to enter the ground. Around 500 stalls will fall on the baliyatra. Two stages have also been arranged for cultural programs.

According to reports, around 70,000 to 80,000 people are expected to gather daily as the Bali Yatra is taking place after two years. The Bhubaneswar DCP came to the Baliyatra ground and held discussions with the Baliyatra committee and reviewed the security arrangements. There will be one post each of the fire department along with the police and an emergency announcement will be done here.

The police have also advised the Baliyatra committee to make proper arrangements for drinking water. Traffic and parking have been given more importance, while heavy vehicular movement will be stopped during baliyatra. In some places, there will be diversions and cranes will be placed on the side of the road to pick up the vehicle if it is stuck on the road.

Eight to 10 platoons of police will be deployed during the Bali yatra and there will be special squads keeping an eye on thefts. The police have advised the Baliyatra committee to install CCTVs at various places for security reasons. The committee’s office-bearers will walk around in plain clothes during the baliyatra. If there was food in the food stall, it will be confiscated and action will be taken. Priority will be given not to use polythene and there will be medical camps and ambulances for emergency health care.
