First in history, two women officers get IG rank in CRPF

New Delhi: A new golden chapter has been added to the history of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). For the first time in its 35-year history since inception, two women officers in the CRPF have been promoted to the rank of IG. In such a situation, women were working in the CRPF in 1987. But no one had achieved such an officer’s post.

The two women officers who achieved the feat are IG Seema Dhundia and IG Annie Abraham. IG Seema Dhundia has been given the responsibility of leading the Bihar sector of crpf. Ig Eni Abraham will head the Rapid Action Force. The CRPF Rapid Action Force was set up in 1992. For the first time in its 30-year history, a woman officer is heading the RAF. Crpf has a history of empowering women. The CRPF also has the distinction of setting up a women’s battalion for the first time in the country in 1986. Seema Dhundiya and Annie Abraham were also part of the first batch.

IG Seema Dhundia has served in highly sensitive areas in the country. He has also played an active role in raising other battalions of crpf and has also held many important posts.
