Rare in the world: 8 fetuses emerge from newborn baby’s stomach

Ranchi: The first fetus in the world came out of the newborn’s stomach. Eight foetuses have come out of the baby’s stomach for 21 days. The doctor performed the surgery and removed all the embryos. Such a rare incident has come to light from Ramgarh district of Jharkhand. This is the first case in the world, the doctor claimed.

The case has been registered at Rani Children’s Hospital in Ranchi. The baby was born on October 10. After the baby’s mother said she was feeling bloated, her family was taken to the hospital within a day or two. The doctor speculated that there might be a dermal cyst in the abdomen based on the CT scan. The child was later discharged after receiving first aid. After 21 days, the child was brought back to the hospital after he complained of problems with his defecation. The doctors operated and removed eight fetuses from the child’s stomach.

In medical parlance, this phenomenon is referred to as fits-in-fetu. According to doctors, only one such case is reported in 5 to 10 lakh children in the world. So far, less than 200 cases have been reported in the world, with one or two fetuses. It is rare to find 8 embryos in the baby’s stomach. The doctor said that in the fits-in-fetu condition, the fetus grows in the stomach.
