Congress’s new 47-member managing committee formed; Bhakta Charan Das from Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Mallikarjun Kharge is in action mode after taking over the reins of the Congress. He announced the new working committee of the Congress. The committee comprises 47 senior Congress leaders. Former Union Railway Minister and MP from Odisha Bhakta Charan Das has been included in the list of 47 people. Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, Rahul Gandhi, A Chella Kumar, Anand Sharma and Ajay Makne are among the others in the list. The team’s work will be handled by this managing committee till a new executive committee is formed.

The Congress Working Committee (CWC) is the deciding body of the party. But the managing committee will take all the decisions till it is formed. All the members resigned from the executive committee yesterday or October 25. According to the congress’ party constitution rules, the executive committee consists of 11 nominated members and 12 elected members. The working committee will be announced at the full-time session of the party.

As many as 47 leaders have been included in the managing committee. Apart from Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, AK Antony, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Ajay Maken, Ambika Soni, Anand Sharma, Avinash Pandey, Harish Rawat, Jairam Ramesh, Jitendra Singh, Kumari Selja, KC Venugopal, Mukul Wasnik, Oommen Chandy, P Chidambaram, Randeep Singh Surjewala. Harish Chaudhary, H.K. Patil, Jai Prakash Agarwal, K.H. Muniyappa, B. Manikam Tagore, Manish Chatrath, Meira Kumar, P.L. Punia, Pawan Kumar Bansal, Pramod Tiwari, Ranjani Patil, Raghu Sharma, Sanjeev Shukla, Salman Khurshid, Shaktisinh Gohil, T. Subirami Reddy, T. Subirami Reddy.
