The controversy erupted after the old man’s family refused to cremate his body at the village crematorium as he had converted to a different religion 3-4 years ago. Even though the government knew about what happened, no one from the government went to the village, which made things worse. Agitated villagers have demanded that the body of the old man be taken to another place while the fire is being lit on fire.
