Athgarh : An incident took place during the bursting of firecrackers on Diwali. A six-room thatched house was completely gutted in the fire late last night. A six-room house was gutted in a fire that broke out while bursting firecrackers on Diwali in Panas Patna village under Viruda gram panchayat under Tigiria police station limits.

The fire spread to one house after another as all these houses were thatched houses. Property worth lakhs of rupees, including the entire furniture of the house, has been burnt to ashes. The Tigiria fire brigade rushed to the spot and doused the flames. The six-room thatched house of Hemanta Kumar Sahu, Abhay Kumar Sahu and Shridhar Subudhi of Panas Patna village was damaged in the fire.
