Bhadrak: Gold ornaments worth lakhs of rupees were stolen from Neulia village in Ramchandrapur panchayat of Bhandaripokhari police station. A complaint has been lodged with the police that the thieves stole gold ornaments worth lakhs of rupees late at night. According to the complaint, Prashant Kumar Bal of Neulia village has set up a tea stall near the national highway. His wife and two young children were at home. When Prashant was not at home, the thieves broke open the door late at night and entered the house. When Prashant’s wife got up and fell down, the miscreants wrapped a black towel around her face. They later took away an atage and a suitcase from the ark of the house.
The thieves also snatched the earrings from his wife’s ears. After getting the news of Prashant, the sahi padishas rushed to the spot. After a search, the suitcase and Attez were found in an agricultural field not far from the house. The miscreants broke them and stole gold ornaments worth more than Rs 3 lakh and Rs 20,000 in cash from them. Prashant has lodged a written complaint with Bhandaripokhari police station. Meanwhile, police said they have launched an investigation into the incident
