Cuttack: The High Court has directed the transport department to file an affidavit on the improvement in infrastructure required for installation of high security number plates. The high court also directed that detailed information be maintained on the fines to be levied on defaulters. The high court posted the matter for further hearing on August 31.
The high court disapproved of the deadline being declared without proper arrangements. Not all people in the state have an online system. It is not even possible to book on HSRP. The high court had asked the state government as to what alternative arrangements would be made. So the transport department took a month’s time to set up the infrastructure. However, on the same day, the transport department was also directed to inform the High Court about the alternative arrangements that can be made during this period. However, a month has passed since then. Therefore, the High Court wants to know about the implementation of the earlier order.
