New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday laid the foundation stone of the C-295 transport aircraft manufacturing facility at Vadodara in Gujarat. The C-295 transport aircraft for the Indian Air Force will be manufactured by Tata-Airbus, a Defence Ministry official said. According to Defence Secretary Arman Giridhar, apart from the production of 40 aircraft, the facility at Baddora will produce additional aircraft for air force requirements and export.
“India is moving forward today with the mantra of ‘Make in India, Make for Globe’. Now India will also be a major producer of transport aircraft. It has been launched in India today. I see the day when the world’s largest passenger aircraft will also be made in India.
The Prime Minister added. Today, we are taking a big step towards making India the largest manufacturing hub in the world. Today, India is building its own fighter aircraft, tanks, submarines. Not only this, medicines and vaccines made in India are also saving the lives of millions of people around the world.
