Puri : Today is the auspicious Kartik Shukla Chaturdashi Tithi. On the fourth day of Panchuka, the Lord’s Lakshminarasimha besh is being held today. It is mentioned in the Skandha Purana that when Indradyumna Maharaj first went to see Lord Jagannath on the throne of Ratna, the Lord gave him darshan in the form of Narasimha.
Therefore, in that memory, on this chaturdashi tithi of kartik month, the Lakshminarsihan besh of the Lord is held. After the increase in the vacation policy in the temple, the pushpak sevaks adorn the Lord with patavastra and perform this dress. In this attire, the Lord holds a silver conch with the golden shribhuj, shripayar and chakra. Lord Balabhadra also holds a golden shrabhuj, shripayar and halamrisal. Similarly, the bangles that Lord Jagannath and Lord Balabhadra hold on the head are placed with a bagia on the sides of the golden kias.
Therefore, this dress is also known as the dalikia besh. However, tomorrow on Kartik Purnima, there is a lunar eclipse when the Lord’s Rajarajeshwar or Sunabesh is taking place. For this, all the policies of the Temple Administration have been finalized, but the devotees are likely to be deprived of this rare golden dress.
