Morbi: The Morbi Bar Association has decided not to fight the prosecution of the accused in the Morbi bridge accident. Members of the association took out a protest march on Wednesday. However, on Tuesday, the association passed a resolution not to handle the case of the accused in court. Senior advocates A.C. Prajapati Morbi Bar Association and Rajkot Bar Association have decided not to fight their case.
Another lawyers’ association said all members of the association were “deeply saddened and saddened” by the situation arising out of the accident. Therefore, the case bar association of the accused has decided not to fight on moral grounds. As many as 135 people were killed in the Morbi bridge accident. The accident took place around 6 pm on Sunday, but the bodies continued to be recovered from the river till Tuesday.
Of the dead, 54 were minors, 33 of them below the age of 10. Among the dead are 38 boys and 16 girls. A two-year-old boy was also killed in the accident. The government official probing the case has placed the company’s lapses before the court. However, the police suspect technical and structural faults in the bridge in the initial investigation.
