Pakistan: Imran Khan among 4 injured, 1 arrested in firing at ex-PM’s rally

Wazirabad : Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s rally was shot at on Thursday. There are reports of at least four people injured along with Imran himself. The shooting took place near Wazirabad Allah Ho Chowk. It is said that unidentified assailants fired smoke at Imran Khan’s contemporaries. Imran escaped unhurt from the attack, but he was reportedly injured.

The injured, including Imran, were rushed to a nearby hospital. Police are said to have detained one person in connection with the case. The PTI’s protest on Thursday entered the seventh day of March. During the rally, Imran’s convoy was hit by smoke. It shows a bandage tied to Imran’s right leg. It is worth mentioning that Islamabad has come out in a long march from Lahore against the Imran government.

For this, the shooting took place near the container in which Imran was travelling. As a result, Imran got down from the container and was taken to the hospital in a car. Police are said to have managed to nab the attackers. The reason for the attack is yet to be ascertained. Detailed reports are awaited.
