Tirupati temple assets worth Rs 2.3 lakh crore

One of the richest temples in India, the total wealth of lord Venkateswara temple has been announced. The temple is run by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), and this is the first time since 1933 that they have heard this. In a white paper, the trust said that the total assets of the temple are Rs 2.3 lakh crore. The temple has 10.33 tonnes of gold reserves in various public sector banks. It will be worth more than Rs 5,300 crore. Around Rs 16 crore is deposited in various banks in the form of cash. There is also 2.5 tonnes of precious material near the temple. The temple has 960 properties on 7,123 acres of land in different parts of India. The trust pointed out that the properties were amassed through donations from devotees, business organisations and organisations. Av Dharma Reddy, the trust’s executive officer, said that the trust’s current board of trustees has made it harder to sell off assets since 2019. In 2019, the temple had deposits of Rs 13,025 crore in various banks. Which has increased to Rs 15,938 crore. There has been an increase of Rs 2900 crore in investment in the last three years. Similarly, in 2019, TTD had a deposit of 7339.74 tonnes of gold. Another 2.9 tonnes of gold has been added to it in the last three years. Located in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, this temple is also known as Tirumala, Tirupati Balaji Temple. Lord Venkateswara, who is worshipped here, is addressed by devotees by various names like Balaji, Govinda, Srinivasa etc. TTD understands its management responsibilities. Its head is appointed by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
