Islamabad: Virat Kohli should retire from T20 international cricket. We are not saying this, former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has said this. He also gave reasons for why he said this.
Virat scored an unbeaten 82 against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup on Sunday. After this, everyone praised Kohli’s batting. Shoaib Akhtar was also all praise for Virat. Virat’s fighting batting helped India beat Pakistan by four wickets at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
However, despite batting so beautifully, Shoaib advised Virat to retire from international T20. He said Kohli needs to retire from the T20 International format. Because he should not put all his energy into such a short format of cricket.
Shoaib Akhtar said on his YouTube channel, “I think Virat has played the biggest innings of his life against Pakistan. Virat had the confidence to do so well. He returned to the game in one stroke. I want him to retire from the T20 international format because I don’t want him to put his entire energy into it.
Because if Virat plays with such commitment, then he can score three centuries in ODIs. So Shoaib wants him to put his shabu shakti on a day-to-day basis.
It may be noted that, In the India-Pakistan match on Sunday, Pakistan batted first and gave India a target of 160 runs. The Indian team, which came out to bat to make up for it, faced a batting collapse from the start. India’s batting line-up collapsed in front of Pakistan’s bowling. By 34 runs, India had lost 4 wickets. However, Pandya and Virat Kohli together took the match away from Pakistan. Virat stayed till the end and played a big role in winning the match.
